Icons of Australia

Set sail for the wild and grandiose landscapes of the Kimberley, following this exceptional PONANT itinerary.

From Broome to Darwin, embark for an 10-night expedition cruise.

In one of the most picturesque parts of the region, the Hunter River, you will see wild mangrove forests where saltwater crocodiles live along with many species of birds.
The highpoint of this cruise will undoubtedly be the discovery of the King George River and the majestic Twin Falls, the highest single drop waterfall in Western Australia.
You will also visit Collier Bay, where you will be able to admire a spectacular example of the impact of the tides cascading in mini-waterfalls as the entire Montgomery reef appears to rise from the turquoise-blue waters of the bay.
Your ship will take you along one of the most spectacular coasts in the entire region.
With their falls, abrupt gorges, savannah, and calm waters, the wild lands of Kimberley are the promise of an exceptional adventure.

At the end of the cruise, two nights are included in a Darwin hotel with breakfast, allowing free time to explore the Top End capital, before the adventure continues inland with a three-night iconic rail journey aboard The Ghan Expedition from Darwin to Adelaide. Once onboard enjoy all-inclusive dining, fine wines and beverages as well as unforgettable Off Train Experiences in Katherine, Alice Springs, Manguri and Coober Pedy, including a spectacular dinner under the stars at the historic Telegraph Station in Alice Springs.

Reliving the golden era and romance of rail travel, guests will travel in a Gold Service Twin Cabin with a private ensuite, panoramic window and in-cabin music. In the lounge and restaurant cars, guests can enjoy all-inclusive fine wines and beverages, hearty breakfasts, two-course lunches and three-course dinners prepared by onboard chefs. The fine, locally-inspired cuisine is sourced using regional ingredients in partnership with local suppliers and providers.
